
Continuing Education for Therapists and Social Workers
The following classes and workshops are qualified for continuing education (CE) credit for MFT’s and LCSW’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (provider: Nyingma Institute #2513). They present innovative techniques that help manage physical and emotional pain and enhance overall well-being. Unless otherwise noted, Saturday workshops run from 10 AM to 4:45 PM and include a vegetarian lunch. A full refund is given if a program is cancelled or a student is unable to attend.
Please register in advance and inform us if you will be attending a course for continuing education credit so that we may prepare the appropriate paperwork for you.
NPS102 Transforming Negative Emotions
Mondays, 8—9:30 PM (June 11—August 13)
Introspective practices and insights from the Buddhist tradition can transform the destructive power of “everyday” negative emotions. Based on Tarthang Tulku’s Openness Mind, this course gives specific antidotes for anger, fear, anxiety, and attachment.

KNR103 Beginning Kum Nye: Releasing Tension and Restoring Balance
Wednesdays, 6:15—7:45 PM (June 6—August 8)
Kum Nye movement and awareness exercises help release physical and emotional tension. Practices in this course focus on giving students tools to restore balance in their lives and deepen their spiritual awareness.

KNR412 Inner Alchemy: Transformation through Tibetan Yoga Workshop

NPS402 Overcoming Fear of Change Workshop

Practices and discussion in this workshop center on counteracting the fear and inertia that keep us bound to habitual or negative patterns of thought and action. Teachings and exercises help harness the dynamic power of time to create positive change.

NPR405 Preparation for the Time of Death: The Bardo is Now! Workshop

Special meditation practices in Tibetan Buddhism are associated with the bardo, the period between death and rebirth. Nyingma masters instruct us not to wait until this difficult time, but instead to see change—death and rebirth—in every new moment. This workshop presents practices designed to heighten our ability to make positive choices at crucial times in our lives. Lecture and discussion will include practical suggestions from the Tibetan tradition on how to maintain optimal conditions during the days that proceed and follow the time of death.

The human heart thrives on wonder and the light of beauty. Tarthang Tulku, Mandala Gardens.
Our physical senses are capable of receiving great beauty, bringing us moments of exquisite feeling and deep satisfaction. To activate this capacity for beauty, we must clear confusion and repressed anger out of the pathways of the senses. The Tibetan Yoga (Kum Nye) practices in this workshop initiate a stream of inner feeling that cleanses each sense.
